The MTV Video Music Awards are planning something special for Britney Spears this year: a tribute!
Check out the promo aired on MTV HERE (or YouTube), and some behind-the-scenes footage HERE. Britney’s idols, Michael & Janet Jackson, and Madonna are all meshed up with her music. You will also see her dancers wearing her old outfits from videos and performances. Really cool!
We still don’t know how the tribute is going to be like, but rumors are already starting to emerge. According to rumor, different artists will be performing singles off her previous 6 albums, which could be “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops!…I Did It Again,” “I’m A Slave 4 U,” “Toxic,” “Gimme More” and “Circus.” after that, Britney would perform “Hold It Against Me” and her current single “I Wanna Go.”
Rumor also has it she would be receiving the Video Vanguard Award, an award rarely given to artists who had a great influence on music videos.
Ms. Spears recently tweeted the following:
“I heart @MTV. This one is definitely going to be a night to remember… http://t.co/u5Mj4vO -Brit”
Stay tuned for confirmations!
